In God’s Arms – Thought For The Week

This week our thought for the week is a poem written by Liz Cooper, entitled In God’s Arms.

On the day I was preparing to record this poem the bible verse for the day was Zephaniah 3:17 (NLT):

‘For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.’

Zephaniah 3:17

The poem, like this verse, talks of God, calming you, protecting you and singing over you. God’s has so much love for us and sometimes when we are going through tough times we need to be reminded of that. My last few weeks have been incredibly hard but God has promised He is holding me and He won’t ever let me go and that promise is true for you too.

In God’s Arms

I am in your arms,
Safe and secure,
Held tight and rocked gently,
Sung over and oh so loved,
Whilst I am weary,
Through every struggle,
You say ‘Hush My child,
It is going to be okay’

When today feels overwhelming before it begins,
You hold me in your arms,
Carrying me through till tomorrow,
Smoothing the way before me,
Lightening my load,
And You say ‘Hush My child
It’s going to be okay.’

You know each prayer before it is on my lips,
You melt my troubles and bring peace to my soul,
You lift my spirits and inspire joy in my heart,
You open fresh ways and paths before me
And You say ‘Hush My child,
It’s going to be okay.’
