Davide shares his thought for the week; seeking the Lord.
We find in Hebrews 11:6 that God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. When I was young, I used to think what was this reward that He gave us. Was it one? Is it multiple? What is it? But then I found in Genesis 15:1 where He tells Abraham, “I am your greatest exceedingly reward.”
You see the reward that God gives us when we seek Him is Himself. He gives Himself, He reveals who He is and He discloses Himself to us. I remember reading Hosea 6:3 to press on to know Him and He will respond to us and He will come.
You see the Lord responds to our desire to know Him. He responds to our pressing on to know Him. And I feel like the mindset that we should have is like power. Paul says in Philippians 3:8 that I may know Jesus and disregard everything as worthless.
The question I want to ask you and myself is, are we disregarding everything as secondary, as worthless, as garbage in knowing that we may chase Christ and that we may rightly prize Him as the one that we want to know with all of our heart? And I just believe it’s so important for a Christian walk to choose God over and over and over again as first, not as second.
