Milly shares her thought for the week; I AM WILLING.
I’m always intrigued by the exchange between Jesus and the leper who said to Jesus, “Lord, if you’re willing, you can make me clean.” Clearly, the leper believed that Jesus could heal him, but he wasn’t sure if Jesus was willing to heal him.
Many of us are in that position. In our heads, we know his Jehovah our Father, Elah, but we doubt his willingness to heal, probably because we’ve struggled with the illness for a long time or someone we know passed away from the disease in spite of all the prayers. And that’s understandable. However, Jesus’ response to the leper was, “I am willing. I want to heal you.” Jesus in John 6 said, “I came to do the will of my father.” And one of the things he went about doing was healing the sick, which tells us that Daddy God’s will is for us to live in good health.
I recently attended a three-week supernatural ministry program in the U.S. One of the delegates, a lady from Thailand, whom I became very good friends with, had been bedridden with overwhelming fatigue for six years, God had told her to attend this very intensive program. She did, in a wheelchair, wondering how her body and her brain were even going to function.
Suffice it to say that her healing had started by day one! She attended each and every session, on her two legs, no wheelchair. Her energy levels, and her ability to concentrate, improved daily. And she made the 37-hour journey back to Thailand, with no wheelchair – glory to God!
A question does remain, have we actually seen everyone whom we pray for get healed? No? Does that mean we stop standing on God’s Word for healing? Absolutely not! 1 Corinthians 13 reads, “Now we know in part, but then shall we know, even as we are known.”
So while we don’t have all the answers, this side of eternity, may we keep our eyes on Jesus and believe He is who He says He is, our Saviour, Healer, Deliverer. Amen.
