Milly shares her thought for the week; mission accomplished, heaven’s response.
Do you ever wonder what the atmosphere must have been like in heaven on a resurrection morning? I can imagine that the atmosphere in heaven would have been pretty electric. The 10,000 times 10,000 angels, the four and 20 elders, the four living creatures would have been beside themselves with excitement. And down here on earth, I imagine the Holy Spirit couldn’t wait for the moment when he could breathe life back into Jesus. And when that moment came, heaven would have erupted with joy and jubilation. Then the Lord and King was back in all his glory and his majesty. The voice of millions of angels would have resounded throughout all of heaven. Worthy is the lamb that was slain. There would have been such a richness of sounds, harps, trumpets in worship and adoration, grand, majestic.
And what might have been the response of Daddy God? I imagine he would have been very emotional. “My beloved son”, he might have said, “I love you so much. I’m so sorry for all I put you through, and I can’t thank you enough for saying yes. Thank you that you’ve reconciled my people to me. That they are now my sons and daughters, and I am their father”. And the father might have continued, “now all you laid aside is restored to you, my beloved son, plus so much more. I exalt you to the highest place in the heavenly realms, far above all rule or authority or power or dominion. They are under your feet, and I proclaim that your name is above all names, that at your name Jesus every knee should bow and every tongue confess that you are Lord. Glory to God.”
And so, may a response be to love and adore Jesus passionately, may it be for him to take preeminence in our lives and may we make it a mission to let his world know how much he loves them and wants them back in his mighty name. Amen.
