Eden shares his thought for the week; the calm in the chaos.

My wife and I recently bought a house, which was a really exciting experience. It came with its fair share of frustrations and struggles along the way, but it was a really smooth process all in all, and we really thank God for that. But something that we definitely needed to lean on God’s understanding, His grace, His peace throughout that experience and throughout that process.

One evening, when I was just reading my Bible, I came across this verse, which I thought was going to be really really helpful, so I wanted to make it my Thought for the Week! It comes from Psalm 62 verse 5 to 8 and it reads

Find rest on my soul in God alone. My hope comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation. He is my fortress. I shall not be shaken. My salvation and my honour depend on God. He is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in Him at all times O people. Pour out your hearts to Him for God as our refuge.

Psalm 62:5-8

I just think that’s been a really helpful couple of verses for me and my wife, and I think it’s something that we can all relate to in different ways, whether it’s work stress, a personal stress of any kind of relationship, job, any of those kinds of situations. I think we can really just try and hone in on our relationship with God and just really put those burdens on Him and the anxieties, worries, stresses that we’ve got. He can take all of that weight.

So I just want to encourage everyone that you’re not alone, you’ve got God with you, and I just want to pray over everybody reading this today.

Lord, I pray that we all are able to just put all of our burdens, all of our worries, stresses, anxieties about life, about work, about relationships, any situations that we’re in which we’re finding tough. Lord, I just pray that you’re able to take those burdens and fill us all with peace and understanding and calmness in that potential chaos that we may be going through. Lord, I pray that you’ll keep everybody safe, keep everybody’s eyes focused on you and fixed on you at a time when crazy things are happening all across the world, Lord, that we’re able to always see the calm in the chaos and always see the light at the end of the tunnel. Lord, I pray that everybody watching this will have a fantastic week ahead and that we’ll all be able to just trust in you that little bit more and see your light where previously we may have seen darkness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
