This week our thought for the week is a poem written by Liz Cooper, entitled Awakening.

There is a whisper in our spirits,
There is a beating in our hearts,
There is a feeling in our bones,
There is a distant rumble,
A sense of building in the heavenlies,
There are fires igniting all around us,
For there is an awakening,
The start of something new and beautiful,
For God is moving,
Mighty in power and majesty,
He is sending His Spirit to flood the Earth again,
To wake up slumbering souls,
To empower prophets of peace,
To awaken new purpose,
To bring lost souls into His kingdom,
The fields are ripe for harvest,
Don’t let the workers be few.

For we can see precious glimpses of Heaven on Earth,
But we haven’t seen anything yet,
For the Spirit will be poured out on Earth in rivers of living water,
Full of life giving holy power,
And anyone who drinks of it will thirst no more,
Anyone who comes to the Father will be embraced,
Anyone who accepts the sacrifice of Jesus will be saved,
So, expect signs and wonders and His miraculous power displayed,
So, come in hundreds and come in thousands to worship,
Get on your knees and pray this season in,
Surrender to this awakening,
Let the excitement and joy bubble within you,
Overflowing all around,
And stand, ready to do His will,
Ready to be part of this awakening.
