Inspired by Psalm 119:105, our thought for the week is a poem written by Liz Cooper, entitled Be A Lamp To Guide Me.

O’ Lord, be a lamp to guide my feet,
O’ Lord, be the light for my path,

As I wait here at the foot of this mountain,
As I wait to understand the way forward,

Show me step by step which way to go,
Show me day by day your plan and so,

Prepare me, as I await Your presence,
Prepare me to serve Your will and purposes,

Lead me forward to freedom and release,
Lead me forward into Your love and grace,

Give me wisdom to follow Your timing,
Give me wisdom to discern Your direction,

Open my eyes to all that is awaiting me,
Open my eyes to see Your glory and majesty,

Protect me Lord from all that seeks to undermine me,
Protect me Lord from all that seeks to distract me,

May I be surrendered to Your ways,
May I be surrendered from the dawn of each new day,

Come Holy Spirit and fill me anew,
Come Holy Spirit and guide me the way through,

Let me be expectant, knowing You are going to move,
Let me be ready, for when the miracles flow,

The great I Am is moving, so let the ground shake,
The great I Am is speaking, so all darkness must flee,

Thank you my Lord, for all you mean to me,
Thank you my Lord, for all you have done for me,

O’ Lord be the lamp to guide my feet,
O’ Lord be the light for my path,

Now and forever more,
Amen.
