This week our thought for the week is a poem written by Liz Cooper, entitled Count Your Blessings Not Your Battles.
Count your blessings not your battles,
For God is enthroned on high and He is working in your life,
He is laying the foundation stones and building you up in grace,
He is pouring out His Spirit on your life,
And layering blessing on blessing,
Count your blessings not your battles,
So open your eyes and see what God has done,
Open your mind and be conscious of what He is doing,
Open your heart and stand on His promises for the future,
God has hand on your life, so count up what God has done, is doing and will do in your life,Count your blessings not your battles,
For you do not stand in your own strength,
For in our weakness we would falter and fall,
Cry out to the Lord and surrender the battle to Him,
He is more than able to you carry through,
He will uphold you and protect you and insulate your heart with peace,Count your blessings not your battles,
When the mists and clouds gather,
And when the storm clouds glower and come,
He is equipping His army of light,
They are ready for the battle,
And where the light goes, the darkness has to flee,
Our God is in every battle and He has the victory,Count your blessings not your battles,
Liz Cooper
For God goes before you in every battle,
There is so much power and might in Jesus’s name,
So do not weep, relinquish your fear and doubt,
And be still and know that He secures you again,
For the Lion of Judah is roaring in triumph,
And He will never fight in vain.
