Kit shares his thought for the week; God’s timing is always right.
So I’m currently stuck on the top floor of IKEA’s car park. I’ve been in the queue now for about three hours and I’ve moved probably about 20 meters, so it’s not looking great. But it has given me the opportunity to film my Thought for the Week!
Like me, I’m sure you’ve been stuck in a queue along one at some point in your life. You can sit there wondering why it has taken so long while watching other lanes move faster. There’s a temptation to switch lanes to push ahead or not let someone in, and you can grow very frustrated! You can start to question why their lane is moving faster. Did I make the wrong choice? Or if only I took that turning!
But waiting isn’t wasted time. In our faith, we can often find ourselves waiting—waiting for answers, waiting for a reply from God, waiting for breakthroughs or directions. And just like in a queue, impatience can make us doubt God’s plan.
Isaiah 40, 31 says,
But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not grow faint.
Isaiah 40:31
So I want to encourage you and say that, you know, God isn’t ignoring you. He isn’t holding you back to make you wait. He can see what’s ahead, and he knows his perfect timing. Sometimes the delay is His protection or to give you an opportunity to prepare for what’s coming next. The line will move, and it will move when it’s meant to. Your turn will come, and it will come when it was meant to. And when it does, you’ll realize that God’s timing was evident throughout all of this. He’s never late – His timing was just right.
So I want to encourage everyone this week to trust in the Lord, even in the slow periods and even in the waiting.
