Greetings to All Nations Church – Reading! We are the Baker Family. David and Stacey Baker have been married since 2012.
We have 2 sons Joseph who is 4 ½ and Joshua who is 2 ½ years old. David has been working as the Associate Pastor in Ipswich International Church (Elim) for the past 10 years. He enjoys the vibrancy of working in an internationally based church – especially when they share food. Stacey is a trained children’s nurse and was working in the health visiting team in Ipswich until recently in view of our plans to move to Guatemala. Joseph is an adventurous boy who is looking forward to seeing the volcanoes one which erupts water and the other which erupts fire and ash. He also loves dinosaurs. Joshua enjoys being outdoors and playing football and loves music – playing his toy piano.
We are very excited to embark upon this new adventure with Elim Missions. We are passionate about people encountering the love of God and the truth of his word. We are going to Antigua in Guatemala where we will be pioneering gospel households with a vision to see and develop a ‘Movement of Missionary Disciples’ to spread in Guatemala and beyond. As in Acts 2, a Gospel Household focuses on:
- prayer and the Bible
- eating and doing life together as extended family
- sharing the gospel
- living as disciples and raising and releasing disciple makers.
We will also be working alongside Gerardo and Corina Lovato to help with the Lighthouse which is an Afterschool Club which was set up by Oscar and Rachel Mendoza (previously based in Guatemala). We are continuing to work together as a team to see what God will do for his glory.
