Milly shares her thought for the week on recalibrating.
How do you see God? What is your view of him? Do you feel you can trust him? The thing is that ultimately our perception of him will determine the degree to which we experience his Shalom. We need to know whose we are and who we are.
So, whose are we? Our perception of God as our Father can become distorted if we had an absent, critical or abusive father. Or we may have experienced challenges in life that have made us doubt his love and care for us. Or we just might not have revelation knowledge about his nature. So it’s worth meditating regularly on and declaring what the word tells us about whose we are.
The truth is that the one who created the universe, God Almighty, the Great I Am, is your Daddy God. He loves you so much. He sacrificed his only son for you. He is your peace, your provider, your healer, your protector. He is Jigover El Shaddai. He is more than enough. And know that as your Daddy God looks at you, what he sees is Jesus in you. You are the righteousness of God in Christ because of the blood of Jesus. And so when you go off path, you sing, you make mistakes, he doesn’t sit there shaking his head and getting really fed up with you. No, he sees and calls out your destiny. He sees the gold he has placed in you rather than your history.
And what does the word say about who you are? You are Daddy God’s precious son or daughter adopted into his family. You are co-heir with Christ. This means you share in his inheritance glory to God. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places. Principalities and paths are under his feet, which means they’re under your feet too. That is the position of spiritual authority. You are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. You are a citizen of heaven. This means all of heaven’s resources are at your disposal. You are an ambassador for Christ. This means you have the authority to release those resources of heaven onto the earth. You are the light of the world because of the radiance of Jesus in you. This dark, desperate world is longing for you to be the light that Jesus says you are. Glory to God.
As we abide in him and as we nurture deeper intimacy with him, his awesome nature becomes not just head knowledge but revelation knowledge to us. We begin to believe his truth about himself and about us. Does this mean we won’t have any troubles? No. Jesus himself said that in this world there will be trouble, but take heart for I have overcome the world. So when a storm comes knocking at our door, may we be intentional about not allowing fear to open the door? And if it does, then may we ask our Daddy God to help us take those fearful thoughts captive and replace them with faith and hope. And if it means we have to do so several times a day, that’s okay. Our Daddy God is love and perfect love casts out fear. And he’s saying in the middle of any storm you might face in 2024, “I love you. You can trust me. I am with you. And ultimately I make all things work together for your God. And know also that I’ve called and empowered you to release my aroma and impact your spheres of influence with my light and my love”. May we respond by recalibrating.
And so I just release the Shalom of God, His wholeness and completeness over you and your families in 2024 in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
