Sometimes in our Christian journeys, we can be confronted with challenges and hardships. These are different for each person and everyone has there own giants. But it’s during these times that we need to have faith. Faith in a God who loves us, faith in a God who works for our good and faith in a God who sent his Son to die for us.
When these situations arrive, sometimes we will need to take a step of faith. This can mean stepping into the unknown and trusting in God. In Matthew we see Peter take that step of faith:
“Come,” Jesus said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
Matthew 14:29
Peter stepped out of the boat having to fully trust that God would see him through. What should have happened is that he should have stepped out the boat and sunk into the ocean during this storm and most likely have drowned. But he kept his eyes focused on Jesus and the miraculous happened.
If we want to see the miraculous happen in our lives then we need to take that step of faith. We need to, like Peter, step out the boat with full faith that God will see us through. Whatever difficult situation that you find yourself in right now, just know that God has you. You may need to step into the unknown and trust that God will have you, but rest assured that he will have you.
Our lives may not always be easy, our lives may have challenges that seem too much, but we will always have our saviour there with us. He doesn’t watch from afar, he goes through the tough times with us; He will never leave us or forsake us.
